RememberAVet ~ Wreath Project

If you have any questions regarding how you can help in the fundraising process or the project in general, please email us at WreathProject@yahoo.com.

Our mission is to secure donations to purchase boughs, ensuring that each grave site at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery is recognized and honored during the holiday season.

We are also concentrating on raising awareness of this project and encouraging other civic groups, organizations and individuals to join in this effort each year, for this and other cemeteries.

2024 Volunteer Opportunities

Bough Truck Unloading: TBA

Event goes on, rain or shine!

Following the bough placement, volunteers are needed to help transfer the cardboard to dumpsters on-site. All the cardboard is stacked near the road and volunteers and pickups are needed to haul to dumpsters. Hauling can start once the crowd thins out and the roads are clearing. Cemetery staff there will be point of contact if you have any questions.

Bough Pick Up for Disposal On-site: Date TBA - beginning at 7:30am

Volunteers may bring a pole or dowel to work in pairs and string boughs on them for easy pick up. Boughs are hauled out to the curb and picked up by garbage trucks. Volunteers of all ages are welcome and this usually takes 90 minutes or so; no sign-up required, just show up!

Updates will be posted on our Facebook page: Wreath Project (Sacramento Valley National Cemetery).

You are encouraged to check back here frequently and check the Facebook page. You may want to join the email group for event information and year-round updates as well by emailing us at wreathproject@yahoo.com to be added.
